Acoustica @ East Melbourne Library Rosie Burgess 122 George Street East Melbourne |

Playing straight from the heart, Rosie keeps herself warm with her skillful rootsy guitar, harmonica and mandolin playing, singing up a storm everytime she takes the stage.
Travelling all over Australia, Rosie has had the pleasure of playing along side some of Australia's finest musicians at our best festivals, including Ash Grunwald, Mia Dyson, Deborah Conway, Chris Wilson and Blue King Brown.
Rosie's quirky and original tunes captivate audiences wherever she goes. Her high-energy live shows combine humour with a real love of music. Rosie Burgess brings fun with her to the stage, for a truly engaging performance.
"When you have heard Rosie perform, you're sure to be tongue-tied trying to tell people how good she is..." Dave Ritter, organiser of the Bruthen Festival of Blues and Arts.

Acoustica @ City Library The Brand New Companions 253 Flinders Lane Melbourne |
The Brand New Companions are an orginal bluegrass inspired outfit with Andre Camilleri on acoustic guitar and vocals, Chris Birnie on double bass and Mark diMazio on a number of acoustic string instruments. What started as a bit of fun on the side has quickly become an important outlet for Andre's quieter, story driven tunes and another great addition to Melbourne's Country scene in the process. Influenced by the likes of Gillian Welch, Townes van Zandt and Steve Earl BNC add their own character to this often misunderstood genre. Their first album will be released later in the year. www.andrecamilleri.com |

Acoustica @ Night - Daquqi City Library 253 Flinders Lane Melbourne |

Inspired by the beauty, soul and poise in the music of composers such as Arvo Part and Anouar Brahem, daquqi’s exquisite playing marries the passion and eclecticism of Astor Piazzolla with modern acoustic/electronic experimental themes. Formed in January 2007, this dynamic duo has created music for film, theatre, shadow puppet plays and recorded their first EP ‘kite scapes’ with guest bass player Paul Binns. Daquqi brings immense life and richness to their interpretations of great 20th century contemporary composers. Amadis and Myfanwy share a lifelong love of improvising and are currently co-composing a strong and finely crafted collection of their own pieces. The music of daquqi will uplift you, transport you and take you on a rich soundscape journey of incredible breadth, spaciousness, detail and solace, with plenty of frivolity and intensity. |
