The times they are a changing...
In the next couple of months you will notice a number of changes to the Melbourne Library Service...

• Temporary Library Closure...
  Due to installation of our new state of the art Library Catalogue, City Library, East Melbourne Library and North Melbourne Library will be closed from:
  6pm Fri 1 August until Tue 5 August
  (Closed Sat 2, Sun 3 & Mon 4 August)
  City & North will reopen at 10am
  East at 1pm
  For your convenience, our book chutes will remain open for returns.   All other library services including our online Library Catalogue will be unavailable during this period.
  
• Extended Library Opening hours
  Hours of opening have been extended for East and North Melbourne Libraries
  The new hours are indicated in blue.

  *City Library Weekend Hours  will be extended from Saturday 9 August
  Saturday 10am > 5pm
  Sunday 12 > 5pm
  This is a City of Melbourne - State Government joint funding partnership.
  
• Amnesty on Fines
  Monday 28 July to Sunday August 17
  Fines will not be collected for overdue items returned during this period.  Library customers are encouraged to return all overdue items and avoid fines.
  
• From July 1 2008
  - fines on overdue items will be 25c per day per item
  - charges on our room hire will change
  - there will no longer be a reservation charge at City Library which will make reservations free at all branches of the  library service
