A Guide to Item Status

The CALL number tells you which collection an item is part of, the status tells you if it will be available for you.


On Shelf
This means that the item should be on the shelf where its CALL number says it should be, however in a public library things can be moved and misplaced.


Due Date
This means that the item is out on loan and is due on the date indicated.


Just Returned
This means that the item has been returned within the last 24 hours. It may be on the shelf, on a trolley waiting to be shelved or in the check-in room being processed.


Trace, Lost, Claims Returned
Unfortunately these items are missing. They are either being looked for or may be replaced at a later date according to collection needs. They are not available for loan.


Hold
These items have been reserved by a library member and are waiting to be picked up. You can reserve them but won’t be able to get them until the other people who have holds on them receive the item. There may be a lengthy waiting list for popular items.


Transit Hold
These items are reserved for a library member and are on their way to a library to be picked up.


In Transit
The item has been returned at the wrong library and is on its way to the home library.

In Process
This is an item that has recently been purchased and will be available in the near future once it has been processed to the collection.


On Order
This item has been ordered for purchase.


Mending
This item is damaged and is currently being mended and is currently unavailable for use.


Workroom
There is a problem with this item and it is currently unavailable.


Stack
These items are available by reservation only. There is no charge for reservations on these items. They are generally available within 24 hours.
