Inter-library loans
You are able to request items from other libraries if the items are not held by Melbourne Library Service.

But before you proceed, please check our Catalogue to make sure we don't already have a copy of the item.

We can request books that have not been published in the last twelve months, and journal articles. We cannot request audio-visual items.

Limits and charges apply. For further information, see Your Guide to Inter-Library Loans (pdf 65kb).

Renewal of your inter-library loan is dependent on the library that owns the item. To request a renewal contact the library no less than seven days before the due date. You may do this online. We are unable to give you an immediate answer, as we have to contact the library that owns the item. Check your record online, or ask staff to check whether the renewal has been made.
