Magazines & Newspapers
Melbourne Library Service provides a large number of non-English magazines and newspapers. At City Library daily Chinese newspapers are available to read in the library from the Circulation Desk on the Ground Floor. The magazine collection ranges from current affairs and politics to computing, family health and teenage magazines.
Children's materials
A range of junior fiction and non-fiction books as well as CDs and DVDs for children, remember that you may borrow a limit of 5 each per card.
City Library has a collection of bilingual Chinese/English and Vietnamese/English children’s books. East Melbourne library has a significant bilingual picture book collection with titles in a range of languages.
Music
Melbourne Library Service has a large collection of recordings of popular and traditional Chinese, Vietnamese and Indonesian music on CD.
DVDs and VCDs
Melbourne Library Service has a significant collection of non-English DVDs and VCDs. We are constantly sourcing new Chinese, Vietnamese and Indonesian titles.
Language Learning Items
City Library has a large language learning section located on the Ground Floor, this collection is mainly for those learning another language but does have some texts and magazines that may be of interest. The major collections include French, German, Italian and Spanish as well as many other materials in other languages.

It is now possible to search the World Wide Web in a range of languages.
